Repetition: A Dire Problem
We are constantly plagued by the guilt caused by our knowledge of the Worlds atrocities. We at once feel an imperative to act and a sense of helplessness. Bombarded with this sad reality, we try to ignore altogether.
I feel that the Class of 2007 has bourne much of this weight. We learned about social inequality and the woeful mistakes made by world leaders. Then, we are told that it is our job to fix it. Politicians repeat the mantra "Young people are the future" because they want to dump the responsibility for the future onto us.
With that in mind, I have made a parody of the pressure we are facing: death, sad music, seemingly random depressing pictures taken off the internet. Mostly, it is to parody the repetition of form that is used in an attempt to pull at our heartstrings.
